SPECIALIZING IN BLACK, OTTER & CASTOR MINI REX
3/26 Update: After dogs broke into my rabbit barn and I lost most of my herd a couple of months ago I found myself needing to what direction to take. It has been an extremely difficult decision but I have decided I just don't have the time, energy, or money to start all over from scratch. Therefore I will be selling out of the few rabbits I have left. All available rabbits will be posted on the Sales Page along with cages and equipment.
ABOUT US:
_Welcome!
My name is Alicia Hakanson, and I have the great pleasure of running
this small, 30 hole ARBA registered rabbitry located in Western
Washington. I currently strive to breed, raise, love, and show, quality
Mini Rex.
In 2003 I was first introduced to this hobby, and began breeding, raising, and showing Mini Rex. My focus at that time was on Black, Blue, & Opal. Unfortunately, in about 2006 I suffered a huge setback when I lost most of my best animals that summer. Feeling discouraged, I decided to take a break from raising rabbits. Of course, having enjoyed this breed and the hobby so much, it didn't take me very long to realize I wanted back in. So in 2009 I started selectively buying new stock, and had my first litters born in my barn. And in late 2011 I finally began actively breeding and showing again full time, putting all my time and focus into raising exceptional quality Mini Rex in Black & Broken. And in 2013 I added Castors and Otters.
I have been very selective in purchasing top quality animals from Nationally winning lines. It is a privilege and a joy to be able to have this caliber of quality animals in my barn. I would like to thank Maple Kelly of Kelly’s Bunnies, and Kathy Tellechea & Pam Renfro of KT’s Bunny Barn in particular, as I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the start I received from their quality stock.
